After a year of meticulous planning and many months of preparation, Republic
Polytechnic (RP) won the Spirit of SIFE award the second year running in the recently concluded SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) National Competition 2010 held at Suntec City Convention Centre on 20 June 2010.
Based on judges’ votes, the Spirit of SIFE award is one of the two group awards up for grabs in this annual competition. The Spirit of SIFE award seeks to recognise the best student team that embodies the Spirit of SIFE from the SIFE criteria of market economics, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, ethics, environmentally friendly, sustainability, as well as,
success skills (life skills).
Led by RP’s Centre for Innovation and Enterprise (CIE) and supported by the Office of Student and Graduate Affair (OSG), School of Applied Science (SAS) and Centre for Culture and Communication (CCC), the team had done RP proud by winning the coveted award. They faced strong contenders from established universities such as Singapore Management University (SMU), National University of Singapore (NUS), and Nanyang Technological University (NTU).
A global movement that brings together tertiary students, academic professionals and industry leaders around the world, SIFE aims to create a better, more sustainable world through the positive power of business. The annual SIFE National Competition highlights the best student projects from the tertiary institutions that will improve lives of people through business globally.

competition. The students would also like to thank and give credit to
contributors like Emily Tan (OSG), Betsy Ng (SAS) and Sarah Somarajan (CCC).
