Diploma in Materials Science (R17)
Course Structure
To fulfil the requirements for the full-time diploma, students need to successfully complete a total of 30 modules. The course consists of foundation modules, core discipline modulesand specialisation modules.
The three options for specialisation offered are: -
Materials Science
- Biomaterials
- Microelectronic Materials

Modules for DMTS Specialisation Options
There are 9 core-specialisation modules offered by
the DMTS which can be seen in the course structure
(Table 2). The core-specialisation modules may be
taken in combination packages of 4 modules each, to
focus on the following 3 specialisation options: (1)
Materials Science, (2) Biomaterials and (3)
Microelectronic Materials. Students may select any 1
of these 3 specialisation options.
