Diploma in Information Technology Service Management

Programme Objectives

The Diploma in Information Technology Service Management (DSM) is specially designed to develop students into IT professionals who are equipped with a unique combination of skills and knowledge in both Information Technology (IT) and IT Service Management (ITSM). Students will acquire a unique blend of customer and process management skills besides being technically savvy.

Having knowledge in ITSM will enable students to harness and manage IT effectively based on well established global practices, with the objective of providing quality services that will fulfill business objectives. This will be delivered through hands-on exposure in the ITSM Practice Laboratory that is equipped with leading industry software where students can directly experience how IT can be continually managed and coordinated to better provide its service to meet agreed service levels to businesses.

Career Prospects

DSM graduates can look forward to exciting job opportunities in the field of IT services that offers excellent job prospects and career growth. They can easily take on industry roles that range from the planning, designing, and implementation to the continual improvement of IT services, either within a commercial end-user or IT service provider organisation.

Examples can include IT project coordinators, service desk professionals, delivery and service engineers, as well as business development/sales executives. In addition, graduates will be equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge that will allow them to take up positions such as software engineers, web developers and IT/e-business consultants in the IT industry.

Further Education

Graduates may also choose to further their education and to this end, all diploma programmes are designed to meet the requirements for entry with advanced standing in local and overseas universities for relevant degree programmes. DSM graduates will be especially well-positioned to pursue further education in fields such as information systems, business or business computing and software engineering.
