Hip Hop with Strider
This is a fun hands-on workshop where students learn how to program Strider the Robot – a robot that can dance Hip Hop!

Under the supervision of academic staff, RP students will guide the secondary school students through the steps of programming the robot. Students will learn how different lines of codes put together can cause their robots to twist and flip around. At the end of the workshop, each group of students will be able to present their dancing robot.

We have received positive feedback from students who have attended the workshop. They have found the session to be an eye-opener to robotics. Thus, we hope more schools will arrange for their students to come to RP to experience the fun of programming robots.

Eureka.08
The annual Eureka Science Symposium aims to involve people with the same passion for science to gather and share their invaluable knowledge. Through this event, we hope we aim to present different aspects of scientific research and development in Singapore and to raise collective awareness of the direction in which science is heading here.

One can look forward to having prominent speakers from the industry speak about developments in research relating to the theme. Each year, a different theme will be covered to spotlight on the current trends of scientific research and how this impacts our lives.

The theme for this year is “Science and Pursuit of Happiness”. It will feature distinguished speakers from the field of environmental protection and the application of relevant technologies towards sustainable development. Through a panel discussion, there will also be an exchange on issues pertaining to the application of technologies in conserving the Earth’s resources and the protection of the environment.
